The Studio is located in Jaffray, BC, in the country in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Owned and Operated by Singer/Songwriter Shelley Lynch. For many years writing music has always been part of her life. Recording demos to take to bigger studios in Nashville or just getting written material recorded has been a lifetime experience.
In 2023, her sound engineer, Drew Zibin, and her started building a studio at her home in Jaffray. Shelley purchased the family home and on it was a shop her dad and bother built. There has been a lot of hard work put into this special place, from Shelley, Drew and many friends and family. It’s not just any studio; its uniqueness has the original siding from her dad’s shop used for a boarder near the ceiling. The analog sound board came from Drew and his dad John, which was originally in an old church. The computer system running this amazing setup was built by the Zibin family.
A studio couch donated by Drew’s wife. Table and chairs from Cathy and Craig Follett in memory of their son Carter. A bathroom cabinet donated by the Neidig family in memory of their mom. A Piano brought in from the Rambold family, Shelley’s mom’s side. A banjo and fiddle donated by the Zelinski family. A set of drums donated by Mike Northcott. Each item in this studio represents a story from someone in some part of their life.
Shelley and Drew recorded the first song from the studio in the fall of 2025; ‘Life is a Journey’, (Listen here: Shelley Lynch – Life Is A Journey Video: https://youtu.be/d6ohBaAu72U ) and a ‘Journey’ it has been! Shelley says, “I wanted to build something that could offer many recording opportunities whether you are a beginner and just trying things out to a professional recording for Nashville. We also offer Audio Book recordings for those that have written a book and would like an audio version”
With Shelley and her sister Cathy’s Fireball Friday live acoustic virtual event that started in 2021, they have been asked if audiences can attend. Moving this event from Shelley’s house to ‘The Studio’ now offers this request! It also offers individual ‘Small Group’ parties which can stream live on the parties own social media or just have a fun night out in The Studio and experience live performance. “I know there are a lot of people that just want to see what it is like to sing in a Studio environment, or maybe they are a guitar player and they just want to jam with friends, we are open for booking these events” says Shelley, “There are also people that just want to record to see what it is like, or send a gift recording to a friend”. We even support the young inspiring children’s birthday party with their full entertainment possibilities. The Studio is equipped with a full kitchen and bathroom. Please inquire about food and refreshment opportunities.
There is also a unique opportunity to receive ‘Raindrop Therapy’. Yes, that’s right, Essential Oils, with the perfect sound in The Studio and the warmth of a beautiful fire stove. Shelley has been studying essential oils for over 25 years! She not only provides this amazing therapy, but she will teach you how it is done!

The Studio is getting ready for a full addition! It will soon sleep 8; 6 in ‘The Studio Bus’ and 2 in the master bedroom. From full band recording opportunities to full on family get togethers. Along with music, this valley has everything from winter sports with snowmobiling, cross country skiing, downhill skiing at Fernie Alpine Resort to Summer fun on Lake Koocanusa and surrounding areas!
