One night in May (2021) I was peacefully sleeping. I had just recently did some land scaping on my property and removed the post with my house number. I was woken up by a loud noise out of a deep sleep. I opened my eyes to a flash light trying to shine through my bedroom window. I jumped out of bed and grabbed my phone, only to hear the pounding noise getting louder, sounding like someone was about to bust down my front door. I grabbed my phone to call 911, only to find the light from my phone was bright, so I covered it up with my hand not wanting them to see I was awake. Half asleep, I went to go out my bed room door and saw a light flashing towards me, as someone was outside looking into my large living room window. I waited for the light to go in the other direction and ran down my hallway to go to the spare room and get my gun. Before I reached the room the pounding on my door got louder, I snapped! I was so mad! I work very hard on my home and someone was about to knock down my door! I ran to the front door, phone in one hand and a clenched fist in the other. I new that the person was standing right behind my door. As I flew the door open quickly, and drew up my fist, ready to punch as hard as I could…..an RCMP officer was standing at my door. I was so mad as I told him I was headed for my gun and how stupid he was to knock on someone’s door like that in the middle of the night in the country. He was looking for someone else’s address! We recently had break ins down the road and it could have been really bad! After speaking to his supervisor the next day, we kind of had a chuckle, as I said you know ‘Country Girls are Crazy’! Especially single, divorced, living alone in the country!
